Ulysses Estate Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 Napa Valley 750ml

Ulysses Estate Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 Napa Valley 750ml

Ulysses (Dominus) Estate Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 Napa Valley 750mL

The Ulysses (Dominus) Estate Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is a masterful Napa Valley expression crafted by Christian Moueix of Dominus fame. Produced from the Ulysses Vineyard—formerly the historic Charles Hopper (Schmidt Ranch)—this wine harmoniously blends Cabernet Sauvignon with modest additions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Nestled on the Oakville bench over an alluvial fan, the vineyard’s deep, gravelly clay loam provides an ideal terroir, further enhanced by dry-farming methods that encourage deep root development and drought resilience.

With a minimalist winemaking philosophy—focused on careful observation, selective harvesting, gentle vinification, and moderate aging in French oak—the goal is to deliver a wine that is a pure, authentic reflection of its terroir.

Tasting Notes

  • Aromas of tart cherry, thyme, citrus, and blonde tobacco lead into a palate anchored by firm tannins and a powerful, persistent finish.

  • Dark black fruit, cassis, violets, creme de menthe, and crushed slate, followed by notes of black cherry, spiced plum, zesty blood orange acidity, sage, thyme, and a vein of mineral tension throughout a long finish
