Named to honor the 352 resilient residents of Templeton, Iowa, Fortitude is the distillery's first house-distilled expression and first bourbon offering — a historic milestone for a brand deeply rooted in Prohibition-era rye whiskey tradition. Every drop is distilled, aged in charred New American Oak barrels, and bottled right in Templeton, Iowa, aged through the state's wild seasonal swings that add bold character and depth.

Templeton prioritizes full transparency in this release, spelling out the yeast strain (Fermentis Safspirit), grain sourcing, fermentation time, and barrel type — a level of openness rare in the industry. 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich notes of vanilla, oak, pepper spice, buttered popcorn, brown sugar, and melting caramel. 

Palate: Rich and full-bodied, with notes of honey, toasted oak, and subtle rye spice. Corn pudding and cream soda accented with a light dusting of cinnamon candies, clove, and maraschino cherry. 

Finish: Notes of white pepper, cherry cookies, and lemon pound cake — easy-drinking and inviting another sip.
