Old Potrero 9-Year Christmas Spirit Whiskey (2025 Release, 700 mL) is a limited-edition, festive rye whiskey crafted by Hotaling & Co. (Old Potrero Distillery) in San Francisco. This holiday expression is made from a 2015 San Francisco Christmas Spiced Ale, which was double-distilled in copper pot stills and then aged for nine years in once-used Old Potrero Straight Rye Whiskey barrels. 

Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), the Christmas Spirit offers a warm and nostalgic profile, blending brewing heritage and distilling craftsmanship. With only 462 bottles produced in this run, it's a sought-after limited release meant for gifting, sipping, and seasonal celebration.

Tasting Notes 

Nose (Aroma):

• Spiced fruit cake and candied orange. 

• Evergreen / pine notes that give a festive, holiday feel. 

• Warm baking spices in the background (clove, nutmeg). 

Palate (Taste):

• Sweet maltiness balanced with bright, tangy grapefruit peel. 

• Medley of baking spices (cinnamon, perhaps ginger) and fresh ginger root.
