Midleton Blended Irish Whiskey Very Rare 2023 Vintage Release

Midleton Blended Irish Whiskey Very Rare 2023 Vintage Release

Midleton Blended Irish Whiskey Very Rare 2023 Vintage Release

Since its inaugural release, Midleton Very Rare has stood as the pinnacle of Irish whiskey — and the 2023 Vintage marks a historic milestone: This legendary annual collection.

Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman crafted this vintage to feature a broader spectrum — from lighter, delicate styles to more robust traditional pot still character — while introducing more refill cask usage to emphasize the distillate over heavy wood influence.  The result is a whiskey of extraordinary depth, refinement, and complexity.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: An intricate medley of nectarines, ripe melon, green apple, and apricot. Pot still spices of freshly peeled ginger and crushed peppercorn mingle with dried flowers, golden syrup, vanilla, honeycomb sweetness, and freshly roasted coffee beans.
  • Palate: Luscious and creamy with succulent fruits and a herbal quality reminiscent of chamomile tea. Pot still spices weave through floral grain notes, while charred oak builds complexity with candied orange and dried apricot.
  • Finish: Fruits and pot still spices build to a crescendo before giving way to oak tannins and antique grain whiskey — long, elegant, and deeply satisfying.
