Henri Giraud Mv 18 Grand Cru Fut De Chene 750ml
Henri Giraud MV 18 Grand Cru Fut de Chene 750mL
-
Producer: Champagne Henri Giraud, a family house in AĂż with deep history.Â
-
Blend: ~ 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay.
-
Base vintage: 2018 forms roughly two‑thirds of the blend, complemented by reserve wines from the perpetual reserve (dating back to around 1990).Â
-
Aging / Vinification: Wines are vinified and matured for about one year in oak barrels (from Argonne forest), half of those barrels are new. Also extended lees aging in bottle.
-
ABV: ~12%
-
Aroma Rich and complex: apricot, baked peach, mandarin or citrus peel, honey, toasted nuts (almond, hazelnut), dried flowers. Also a gentle oxidative note, some spices. Vanilla / pastry and faint toasted oak. Sometimes nuances of “peach cobbler” or “spiced baked apples.” Palate Generous texture, silky and plush. Fruit flavors echo the nose: peach, apricot, citrus, maybe candied fruit. Oak influence gives vanilla, light toast / spice (cinnamon / almond / baking spice). There is also a vibrant acidity and minerality — saline or chalky undercurrent, giving tension. Some have noted a touch of saltiness on the finish. Finish Long, elegant, refined. Freshness remains, with lingering fruit, oak spice, and mineral, possibly a slight menthol or cooling note. Overall, the finish reaffirms complexity (oak + reserve wines + terroir) and finesse.Â
