Glenallachie the Sinteis Series 2014 Chinquapin & Px Cask Matured 700 ml 57.8% Alc.

Glenallachie the Sinteis Series 2014 Chinquapin & Px Cask Matured 700 ml 57.8% Alc.

GlenAllachie The Sinteis Series 2014 Chinquapin & PX Cask Matured 700 ml

  • Series: This is Part I of GlenAllachie’s Sinteis Series—“Sinteis” (pronounced sin‑teesh) is the Scottish Gaelic word for “synthesis,” capturing the idea of blending distinct cask influences to craft a truly unique expression.

  • Casks: The whisky is matured in a fusion of Chinquapin virgin oak (an American oak from Missouri’s Ozarks known for imparting sweet spice and aniseed nuance) and first-fill Pedro XimĂ©nez (PX) sherry puncheons, bringing rich fruit and dessert-like sweetness.

  • Specs: Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025 at cask strength (57.8% ABV), with natural color and non–chill filtered—a bold, unadulterated spirit.

Tasting Notes

  • Colour: Intense walnut hue.

  • Nose: Opens with liquorice, butterscotch, and grilled honeycomb, layered over candied orchard fruits, cocoa, and treacle tart.

  • Palate: A dance of ginger, creamy butterscotch, and candied lemon slices, followed by rich fig jam, blackberries, molasses, with a warming finish of cinnamon spice and dark cocoa.

  • Finish: Lingering rich cocoa and warm spice, with the final impression of PX-soaked fruit warmth.
