Dark Arts Rye 7.5 Year Amburana Maple "ripple Rye"batch #2 750ml

Dark Arts Rye 7.5 Year Amburana Maple "ripple Rye"batch #2 750ml

Dark Arts Rye 7.5 Year Amburana Maple "Ripple Rye"Batch #2 750ml

This limited-release small-batch rye whiskey from Dark Arts is an inventive fusion of craft rye, exotic wood finishing and sweet-barrel influence. Beginning as a high-rye mashbill (95% rye, 5% malted barley) originally distilled in Indiana, it spends approximately 7.5 years in American oak before undergoing a bold finishing process — resting in barrels that once held rich maple syrup, and then layered with toasted Amburana oak staves, adding layers of warmth, spice and sweetness.
Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Deep amber with golden-honey highlights; medium viscosity.

  • Nose: First impressions of warm maple syrup, fresh baked gingerbread, spiced cherry and a swirl of butter-cream icing. Hints of nutmeg, vanilla cream and toasted Amburana (a Brazilian wood with cinnamon/vanilla-like aroma) emerge.

  • Palate: Rich maple interwoven with classic rye spice — think cinnamon, white pepper, caramelised sugar, candied orange peel and praline. The rye’s grain character remains forward while the finishing influences soften the edges without losing complexity.

  • Finish: Long, lingering, slightly sticky yet refined. Maple continues, cacao dustiness from the Amburana, warm holiday-spice wave and a warm wood-kissed tail.
