Bulleit Bourbon just rewrote its own recipe. For the first time in the brand's history, rye has been removed from the mashbill — replaced with mesquite wood-smoked malt for a bourbon that tastes like a Kentucky distillery met a Texas BBQ pit. This is a one-time, limited release. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Distilled in November 2018 and aged a minimum of six years at Bulleit Distilling Co. in Shelbyville, Kentucky, the result is a rare, smoke-forward bourbon bottled at 93 proof. No artificial flavors. No shortcuts. The smokiness comes entirely from barley dried over burning mesquite wood before the grain ever touches a still.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Caramelized sugar, warm mesquite smoke, sweet corn, toasted grain
• Palate: Sweet vanilla, brown sugar, oak, caramel, and subtle BBQ-style smoke
• Finish: Light yet lingering — warm, barbecue-inspired, gently sweet
